Today I am 55.

So... today I am 55. The 55 mile marker on the road and race of life. Double nickel. AARP. 35 cent coffee at Burger King. 25 lbs heavier than my high school weight of 194 lbs. Instead of 34x36 pants from college, I am wearing 36x34. Hmmm… But…

I am sitting on my front porch giving thanks to the most amazing, loving, generous, kind heavenly Father for all the way He has led us these past 55 years. I am indeed counting my blessings. Let me name a few…

1. I was thought of before the world began. Eph.1.4
2. I was fearfully and wonderfully made in my mother’s womb. Ps.139
3. I was born in Miami, FL in 1954 to Oscar and Dorothy Woodall. Acts 17.26
4. I am 2nd born male between two awesome sisters.
5. I moved to London, England in 1965-1972.
6. I became a Christian in 1968. Discipled by Bud Hinkson, Charlie Powell and John Riggs.
7. I went to Florida Bible College from 1972-1976. Loved it. My love for God and His Word has just increased over time.
8. I met and married the love of my life, Debbie Farthing, in 1975.
9. I started some “friends for life” in John MacMurray, Phil and Sue Engleman, Mike Minter and Leon Tucker.
10. I became a Dad on 7.7.77 with David Monroe. I was blessed with Michael, Rebekah and Stephen in 1978, 1979 and 1981.
11. I was led and grew through different work and ministry assignments…Reston Bible Church, Heavener Ogier Services, Circle Community Church and now North Point Community Church.
12. We met one of the wisest counselors we know in 1997, Denise Hirschlein, who helped us see the truth and set us free.
13. All of our children married amazing and wonderful spouses in 2003-2007. Danae, Leann, Priscilla and Andrej.
14. We built a beautiful home in 2005 in celebration of 30 years of marriage.
15. We received 3 beautiful grandsons in 2008…Oscar John David, Haden Price and Eden Jozef.
16. I am enjoying some of the most amazing people and friends a man could ever want.
17. I wake up every day and thank God for a very good work to do at and from North Point Church. I love the place of ministry and influence the Lord has given us.
18. I love living a life on purpose in balance.
19. More than all of these things, I am blessed to be known and loved by God my Father, Jesus my Savior, and the Holy Spirit my Counselor.

These are just a few reasons that I say, I am a man, husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, pastor and friend who is…

RIDICULOUSLY BLESSED
