Tonight we got the news that our friend and colleague, Michael Colwell, went home to be with the Lord. He was only 32 and left a wife and two little boys. At the news of his departure, I thought of several Scriptures.
1 Cor.15.54 "When the perishable has been clothed with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality, then the saying that is written will come true: “Death has been swallowed up in victory.” 55 “Where, O death, is your victory? Where, O death, is your sting?”...57 But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ."
I am soooooo grateful for the victory we have in our Lord Jesus Christ.
2Cor. 5:6 Therefore we are always confident and know that as long as we are at home in the body we are away from the Lord. 7 We live by faith, not by sight. 8 We are confident, I say, and would prefer to be away from the body and at home with the Lord. 9 So we make it our goal to please him, whether we are at home in the body or away from it.
We will not understand this side of heaven why the Lord would take this fine man home, but we must walk by faith and not by sight. I know MC is dancing and rejoicing in the presence of His Savior. Pray for Jen, Kaleb and Noah as they adjust to life without their husband and dad.
