LIFEMAP: What's Your Story? Part 3

In November 2001, just 4 years later, at the age of 47, Debbie and I attended L.E.A.D. (Leadership Evaluation And Development) at Dallas Seminary.  In preparation for that week we had to prepare our "Life Map."
This map considered our heritage, our high points, our low points, our heroes, and our defining moments. We did this exercise to seek to get a handle on our past and prepare for the next steps in our journey. It was an extremely helpful exercise.
1. Heritage
2. High Points
3. Low Points
4. Heroes
5. Defining moments
Start from 0 to current age in 5 year increments. Then list all the +5 and +10 events above the line and the -5 and -10 events below the line.
Another thing you will discover through this exercise. Your low points, your (-10) experiences were caused by one of three things. First, either foolish decisions that you made. Secondly, or things that were done to you. Thirdly, God was permitting what He could have prevented. (Like the loss of a parent etc.) Either way, there are things that you must forgive and other things for which you must repent and ask forgiveness. When you take care of these past things, it will free us up for a desirable and fruitful future.
Take time to do your Lifemap. It will be a very revealing and helpful exercise to move forward.
