This morning I was reading 1 Pet. 4:1, "Therefore, since Christ suffered in his body, arm yourselves also with the same attitude, because he who has suffered in his body is done with sin."
When I read these words, my Dad and his death came to my mind. My Dad suffered much and well all the way to the end. One of his favorite verses was 2 Tim.4.6, "For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand. 7 I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: 8 Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing".
My Dad fought a good fight. He finished his course. He kept the faith even though he suffered much all the way to the end. This has left for me a very good example to follow.
Dad, thanks for the legacy and memory you have given to me to "Finish Well and Strong".
I love you forever for it.
