The Teacher In Me - John 13.13

Jesus said, “You call me ‘Teacher’ and ‘Lord,’ and rightly so, for that is what I am."
From the time I was a Sophomore in college, I have always wanted to teach the Bible. I heard a man say, "There are two things that last forever...the Word of God and people". When I heard that I felt a strong desire to teach the Word of God to people for the rest of my life.
Today when I read John 13.13, I realized that Jesus, the Teacher, lives in me and that He wants to teach through me. It is not what I want to teach but what He wants to teach through me. This was a very refreshing perspective. It is not relying on my teaching gift but relying on Him, the Teacher, who lives in me.
What about you? When you teach, is it you or the Teacher in and through you?
I am excited for Him to teach through me.

I'm not a teacher of the Word... But i'm teaching English. I find that I'm always asking the LORD to work and speak thru me when I'm in front of all these little kids. I love the place I'm in, but always asking, always seeking how God can live MIGHTIER thru me.

I like this post!
