Force Vs. Flow-Is.43.16-19

Is.43.16-18 "This is what the LORD says— he who made a way through the sea, a path through the mighty waters, 17 who drew out the chariots and horses, the army and reinforcements together, and they lay there, never to rise again, extinguished, snuffed out like a wick: 18 “Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. 19 See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the desert and streams in the wasteland."
Many years ago I heard Chuck Swindoll say, "That if something is of the flesh it is often forced but if it is of the Spirit it flows." I have been intrigued by this statement and have seen it many times through life. So often when I am forcing something it is of my own way. I have also seen how the Lord goes before and causes the way to flow.
What about you? Are you forcing your own way or do you see the Spirit making a way for you?

jdub,

I can so relate to this concept. My flesh wants to force things for my benefit, but I often sense the Spirit leading me to rest and let Him make it flow.

Thanks for this word!
