Godly Generations-Ps.78.1

I have been thinking about “godly generations” for many years now. I believe this was first instilled in me through my Dad. I saw how my Dad loved his children and grandchildren. He took time and loved and invested in them. I believe I put “…to raise a godly generation in my children and grandchildren” in my personal mission statement because of him.

So now…we got the news that David and Danae are pregnant. I have been thinking and praying for this little one every day. Some of my thoughts and prayers are…

Psalm 139:13-18 For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb. [14] I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. [15] My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place. When I was woven together in the depths of the earth, [16] your eyes saw my unformed body. All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.[17] How precious to me are your thoughts, O God! How vast is the sum of them! [18] Were I to count them, they would outnumber the grains of sand. When I awake I am still with you.

Jeremiah 1:4-5 The word of the Lord came to me, saying, [5] "Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations."

Galatians 1:15-16 But when it pleased God, who separated me from my mother's womb, and called me by his grace, [16] To reveal his Son in me, that I might preach him among the heathen; immediately I conferred not with flesh and blood:

Psalm 127:1-5 - Except the Lord build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the Lord keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain. [2] It is vain for you to rise up early, to sit up late, to eat the bread of sorrows: for so he giveth his beloved sleep. [3] Lo, children are an heritage of the Lord: and the fruit of the womb is his reward. [4] As arrows are in the hand of a mighty man; so are children of the youth. [5] Happy is the man that hath his quiver full of them: they shall not be ashamed, but they shall speak with the enemies in the gate.

Psalm 128:1-4 - Blessed are all who fear the Lord, who walk in his ways. [2] You will eat the fruit of your labor; blessings and prosperity will be yours. [3] Your wife will be like a fruitful vine within your house; your sons will be like olive shoots around your table. [4] Thus is the man blessed who fears the Lord.

I love these thoughts and Scriptures. These are my prayers for the next generation…to be perfectly formed according to the will and plan of the Lord. To separate and call from the womb…to begin to prepare them for their life work, purpose and calling. I love praying for this every day until birth and through out.

Thank you Father, for the blessing of children and grandchildren. Please cause my family to be very fruitful and replenish the earth. I am indeed a blessed man.
